BrightPencil Kids Privacy Policy

BrightPencil Kids is designed for children and families. We aim to keep the app simple, safe, and privacy-conscious.
What BrightPencil stores
The current BrightPencil Kids app stores the following information locally on the device:
- Parent or grown-up settings, including accessibility and learning-support preferences.
- Child profiles used to personalize the learning experience.
- Learning progress, completed activities, and related progress information.
This locally stored information is used to provide app functionality and learning personalization.
What BrightPencil does not do
The current BrightPencil Kids app does not:
- Show advertising in the current child learning experience.
- Use third-party advertising SDKs.
- Use cross-app tracking.
- Use third-party analytics.
- Provide public chat or messaging.
- Provide user-generated public content.
- Provide unrestricted web browsing.
- Request camera, microphone recording, location, contacts, or call-log access for normal app use.
External links
External websites are restricted to approved BrightPencil destinations and are intended for grown-up use. Child-facing areas are not designed to open unrestricted external websites.
Grown-up controls
The Parent Zone is protected by a grown-up gate. Sensitive account, privacy, data-control, and diagnostic actions require stronger verification where supported.
Local data controls
Grown-ups can manage BrightPencil information stored on the device. The app includes flows for viewing and deleting local BrightPencil data. Where a connected BrightPencil account service is introduced, account deletion must also be available through the protected grown-up flow before release.
Diagnostics
BrightPencil does not automatically collect diagnostic exports. A diagnostic export is initiated by a verified grown-up and is intended only for support and troubleshooting.
Children and privacy
BrightPencil Kids is a child-facing educational app. We design child-facing screens to avoid advertising, tracking, open social communication, and unrestricted external web access.
Changes to this policy
If BrightPencil introduces a new backend, analytics service, advertising feature, social feature, or new category of personal data, this policy and the relevant App Store and Google Play privacy disclosures will be reviewed and updated before release.
